Default Phones that positively work well with the Prius

I have read about phones which do not fully work with the Prius. I am would like to know which ones will work well considering all aspects of sound quality and phone lists transferability etc.
I am especially interested in the phones offered by cingular.
Thanks,
Tara

I just connected a Motorola V551, from Cingular, via Bluetooth with the Prius. Set-up was a snap--phone and car recognized each other no problem. I've tested the sound quality on a few calls and it all seems clear on both ends. I did have to upload contacts one-at-a-time, but didn't find this to be too much of a hassle.

There are a lot. Many have minor issues (ie. won't ring through the speaker, will only upload one phone number at a time, etc.)

It would actually be easier to list which ones don't work at all and the limitations of the ones that do work.

V505...same as the v551--great compatibility except only able to upload one number at a time.

T610...sketchy sound quality, doesn't ring through the speaker

So is there one phone that works perfectly or do I just have to go with the one that has the least problems.

I just got a Treo 650 (Sprint PCS) for Christmas, and with the new (as of 12/23/04) software update, I have had absolutely no problems pairing my phone with the Prius.

Every time I get in the car, with the phone in my pocket, after about 30 seconds or less after turning on the Prius, I see the "Bluetooth connection successful" message on the Prius display. I have been able to place and receive multiple calls from the Prius with no problems, and just today used the Nav to phone feature (looked up a restaurant on the Prius Nav, pressed info, pressed dial) and was able to place a take out order without touching the phone itself.

The only issue I still have to figure out is how to transfer an entire phonebook from the Treo to the Prius, or how to transfer a single contact with multiple phone numbers associated. But with single contacts (with single numbers), the transfer works fine.

Here's another vote for the Motorola v551...I just got mine from Cingular, and it's working like a champ. I tried putting it in the armrest storage area and it still picked up OK.

Of course, now there's word out about viruses being sent to Bluetooth phones....great!!!

The European I-mate SP3i Smartphone works great with the Prius.

If you're willing to spend a good deal of money on a cell phone, but also have the functionality of a full computer (full internet browser, etc.), a smartphone is quite nice, and the SP3i is great.

Does anyone know of a bluetooth phone from Verizon that works well with the Prius?

VZW customers who want a BT phone appear to be pretty much stuck with the Motorola V710 for the time being.

It works with the Prius but most would argue it does not work well. Basically, there's no audible ringtone on incoming calls and no phonebook transferability.

How do you upload contacts one at a time? I can't seem to get a phone number into a book.
