Friends: 0 | Hi out there:::::::: Own a 2005 Prius...purchased Jan 5/05. Only complaint is with visibility while backing up in reverse. Previously owned a 1999 Sienna (Son now has as I flipped it to him thru the Dealer and received a tax break on the trade in value of $13,000, the price my Son paid to the dealer, plus sales tax). I had installed an after market backup system on my Sienna which had intermitting beeps at 7'/ 3' and constant beeps closer at a rapid pace. A great safety feature. I have considered installing a system on the Prius but the beeping would conflict with the existing backup installed system. Perhaps the Toyota Dealer could disable. My major concern is that the computer system could be blown if someone installing such a system on a hybrid was not familiar with the Prius. Has anyone out there had such a system installed on their Prius??? G. Kadey Gkadey@sympatico.ca |

Friends: 0 | The reverse alarm system that I was considering was by an independent manufacturer. Yo'ur right , no system available from Toyota for the Prius... |

Yes, both the beeps sound the same and the reverse sensor only switches to a constant beep when the obstacle is about 1 feet close. It works really great but the long beep is a bit annoying to some of my rear seat passengers. I 'm contemplating to change the piezzo electric buzzer to a more pleasing chime. Vincent | |
