Default Had one Integrity tire replaced with Eagle LS. Will this be a problem?

A few months ago I had a new set of Goodyear Integrity tires installed on my Prius. This afternoon I had to get one of them replaced because of damage to the sidewalls. When I took the car in, I asked that the same type of tire be put on, but it didn't occur to me to check the tire until I got home. Of course the tire ended up being an Eagle LS instead of an Integrity. Would it be OK to keep this tire, or should I take it back and have an Integrity put on? I'm not sure how different these tires are or how important it is to have all four tires be the exact same model.

I would take it back and demand the G/Y Integrity . Is the LS a LRR design? Hal

I would never suggest running two different models of tire on the same "axle". You always want to maintain a pair of similar model tires for the front and a pair for the rear. Because different tire models react differently to road conditions it is not generally considered a good idea to run an oddball tire like this.

Regarding the tire tire choice, Tirerack.com rates the Eagle LS poorly which is to be expected for a cheap tire. The tire is also likely to have a higher rolling resistance than the Integrity and could cause lower gas mileage but it is hard to say for sure since you only have 1. The Integrity is a terrible tire so if you decide to have the Eagle replaced with a LRR tire I would suggest something better like the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max if they are stuck on giving you the Goodyear brand. Then offer to buy a matching tire so you can have a matching pair. Have those installed in the rear and keep a pair of integritys on the front.

The bigger problem is the three remaining Integrity tires. I gave mine away when they were new.

The world is a big place and includes China, what if we said the Integrity was the worlds worst tire to be made outside of China?? That's a little more realistic

Gee, these comments are incredibly helpful. Having owned 4 different sets of Integrity tires on 2 different vehicles and not having a single incident with any of them apart from running over a nail here and there, I find it hard to believe they're the worst tires in the world.

My 06 is still on the original Integrity's! I liked them so much I purchased G/Y Fuel Max for my HCH2. I don't understand where you guys are coming from! Are you road racers or Hyper-milers?, or do you just hate Goodyear! Hal

Integritys in a lot of cases exhibited very poor wear and they had horrible stopping distances. There appeared to be a fluke where the Integrity had excellent dry stopping distance but that data conflicted with other data I had read where it showed the Prius having a horrible stopping distance for it's size and weight compared to other vehicles in its class.

That being said, they are not super cheap tires so why buy them when there are better tires out there for the same price or just slightly more?

Check out the mpg and wet braking data for the Integrity. Approx 2.4 less MPG and more than 15' more stopping distance than the leading competition.

Same here. My '06 has 58K miles with plenty of tread left to go on the OEM Integritys. I had an '04 on which the OEM Integritys still had some tread left when I replaced them at 63K, again with the Integritys. I'm sure there are better tires out there, but I haven't had any bad experience like others have reported here.
