Default OEM EV Switch Troubleshooting/Install

Well, I decided to finally install my Ev Switch and with the exception to getting the first pin stuck in hole #27, I thought it went smoothly, however, my switch doesn't work. I've figured that there may be a bad connection somewhere, but i've followed both guides for install and not only does it not illuminate, but it doesn't work. I am getting about 13 volts coming from the wire i plugged into hole 27 from the button, but how can I test the ground wires? I may end up getting a harness from a camry hazard switch as it seems to work for others but my switch didn't even work when i touched the leads from the switch dirrectly to the terminals. Any advice on getting this to work is appreciated, thanks.

Also...
Can anyone provide any insight as to how the terminals are ordered in the guides for the harness? I didn't find the guide to be too specific or helpful in that regard. My switch also doesn't light up even thought I followed rick's instructions on how to tap into the dimmer switch.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hey Andrew,

As for the pin order, if you hold the harness with the clip on the bottom, looking at the end that will plug into the switch, from the right, the first pin (IL+) should tap into the grey wire on the rheostat, pin 2 (IL-) should tap into the red wire, pin 3 should go to the HV ECU, pin 4 should tap into the white and black stripped wire. Pin 5 and 6 should be empty. Pins 1 and 2 should show about 50 ohms or so, and pins 3 and 4 should show no resistance when the button is depressed. Hope this helps.

To test ground, use a continuity tester/multimeter to measure continuity/resistance between your ground wire and an exposed chassis screw (which will be grounded). I did this to test my ground wires. Measuring some voltage on your wire to pin 27 probably means it is good, but to check if you have the right pin, you can try shorting it to the exposed chassis screw as well to try to enable EV mode.

Problem Solved!
All three wires that had been tapped were done so incorrectly and were not in contact with the respective wires. Thanks for your help!
