Question

I have yet to see the damage, but she told me this morning she left her window down. Depending on how wet it got, do you think the seat will mildew? What steps should I take to help dry it out?

Thanks,
Shawn

whatever you do, don't use heat, use wind. e.g. fan over hairdryer

This would use gas, but what about running the front defroster (compressor on) with the temp set to nominal room temp (72) and set it to recirc--this may help dehumidify the interior.

yep... ventilate. pat or spnge dry as much as possible first. if its real wet, might have to open all the doors, couple fans (2 minimum for each door on the side. keep in mind, most of the rain will be concentrated on one side.(might save ya from opening all the doors) position the fans on the side AWAY from the moisture and blow out the side the wetness is on.

In addition to this I'd get a good wet/dry vacuum and suck as much of the water as possible out of the carpet and seat. Then go to the steps above.

Thanks for the help. It's not too terriably bad. I went by today and felt the seat. I'll have to take a fan and air dry it.

Thanks,
Shawn

do all you can to avoid having to replace the carpets and seats. DH just did one of those jobs and it's only only a huge pain, but expensive!

dehumidifying and air drying will definitely help here. you sure don't want any mold or other nasties growing in there!

Looks like a good candidate for side window visors! In warm weather I leave all windows down about 2 inches. A surprise shower will not get your seats wet.
