Friends: 0 | So I bought a 2006 package 7. I asked the dealer if it had XM radio. The dealer looked in the car and saw that the AM button says SAT... so it looks like AM/SAT. So she says to me, "Yea, all you have to do is subscribe." Turns out that's not true. As we were looking through the owner's manual, we read that you have to buy some additional equipment. I was pissed. She said, don't worry I'll take care of it. Nothing has happened so far on the dealer end. So I called Toyota.... I kind of got the run around. "Yes your radio is a SAT radio, No it wont work, Yes you'll need some parts, No idea of what parts go see dealer. I'm not happy about this. Does anyone know what's going on. |

There is alot of discussion on the audio forum. The toyoto xm add on is just getting ready to come out (hopefully). It looks like it will cost another $500 or so. Maybe you can get your dealer to add it for free since they gave you the impression it was already included. | |

Friends: 2 | I purchased my XM kit at www.metrotpn.com for $250. Many others have purchased from there and from other online sites and installed the kit themselves. I'm not the least bit handy, so I paid $200 to have a Toyota audio/alarm guy install it for me onsite at my work. Other audio places were quoting a full $600-700 for the kit + installation. At the time I didn't want to wait until Toyota dealers had XM available to install for customers~first they were saying it would be available in March, then April, now it's May! I've been very very happy with my satellite radio thus far. |
