Hi All:

Last month I was fortunate enough to find and purchase a 2007 touring model with package #6, (inc Nav, Leather etc). Purchased the car for my commute into San Francisco and I really like the car, actually its better than I anticipated.

So, I set up my phone to sync with the cars bluetooth system, and everything is fine. When I go back into the car the next day (or later on) and start it up, with the phoen in my pocket (or in the center console) the cars Bluetooth registration fails (which is what the display in the car says at startup). So I have to re-register the phone through the cars bluetooth, and it will work while I drive for that trip, but shut the car off and then get back in later and it fails. I feel like I am stuck in a cycle of sorts.

The car is set to auto for bluetooth sync, as is the phone. I am almost at my wits end with this, and am contemplating just taking it into the dealer next month and let them sort it out (I assume this would be covered under warranty).

Any interim suggestions?

Hi Alphlulu,

We just crawled into our new, highest trim-level, touring pkg '07 yesterday and ran into the EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS YOU today. Like you, we LOVE our new ride, but this bluetooth issue has us stymied as well.

<_<

Not sure what to do . . . was thinking about upgrading our Motorola v505 to something else to solve the problem. Kind of a band-aid approach, I know, but . . .

Hopefully someone out there hears our cry!

The problem is likely with the handset and not the car... Give Motorola a ring and see if any firmware updates are available for your model.

I use a Sony Ericsson handset which auto-pairs and un-pairs fairly gracefully. The only time I ever have an issue is when I forget to un-pair my headset before getting into the car. It might be worth trying to un-pair your handset manually before turning off the vehicle to see if that will allow a re-pairing when you turn it back on - if it does you can be fairly certain this is a handset firmware issue.

Thanks, Platypus . . .

I'll try your suggestion and see if that works! (Coincidentally, I was just about ready to upgrade to a Sony Ericsson Z525a).

I appreciate you help!

I have a SLVR on Cingular. A couple of times my phone would lose its connection as well. I though maybe I had turned Bluetooth off, but I didn't. I actually had to power cycle the phone to get it to reconnect. No amount of fidling with it would work. Generally, my phone never gets turned off. I guess the Bluetooth portion of the phone got hung somehow and a reboot fixed it. I had to do this twice in three days. It has not happened since though, that was about 3 weeks ago.

We have also been able to sync a number of times with our Motorola Q. We completely turn off and restart the phone and everything works fine.

I have 2 phones, a Motorola A1000 and a Sony Ericsson K610i. The motorola fails to even register with the Prius and the Sony works perfectly every time. I guess its just a motorola thing! The phone goes through the paring process OK with me entering the correct pairing code, but then the Prius display just freezes as if it was still waiting for a reply from the phone, the only option available is to hit the cancel button on the prius screen. I have now abandoned the Motorola and am sticking with the Sony.

Hey Vince, I also have a motorola Razr vcast. It frequently does not connect between calls. Most frustrating is that when I am trying to leave a message for someone it cancels the message and I have to start over. Although I don't understand how it does this I am certain that the car's system is the culprit since it has NEVER done it on the hand set! I have also been provided with a new phone in the event it was a "glich" in the handset. Did not fix the problem. Local dealer was clueless! I spend about 3 hours working in m y car a day. This is a problem for me.

I have found that my Motorola Razor will not since after 1 or more trips to the car. Turning the phone off and back on solves the problem. Till the next trip.
