I just edited my daughter's phone number because she got a new cell phone. I just pulled up the entry for her and cleared the phone number that was in there and put the new one in.

There does not appear to be a way to do it on the 04 and 05 models. The only option I can access in the "Edit" mode is to erase a contact.

My phone allows me to upload either the entire phone book or one contact at a time. If you can do that, just delete an entry and replace it with a new one.

jkash, if you do this, be sure you add to the phonebook rather than overwrite. As I recall, overwriting will erase the entire phonebook and leave you with just the entry you upload.

Unless you're sending the entire phonebook again, which overwrites the whole thing.

Next question, how do you find the "Edit" mode to erase the contact? I looked but can't find it.

Thanks.

I wonder how I found it in the first place. It took me a while to figure it out again when I just went down to the garage to look it up.

Go to the main phone screen. Select "Settings." In the first settings screen, you will see "Phone Book" with a "Delete" button to its right. Press the "Delete" button and the phone book will appear with "Delete All" button at the top. Instead of touching that button, select an entry to delete.

Thanks for all the help. I was able to get a new phone number in the car, but chickened out on the "Delete All" button. It took me months to get the phone book and the car to sink, and I didn't want to lose the address book. I read more about my phone on Toyota's site and it appears it doesn't always work with the Pruis. Sending a contact from the phone doesn't usually work because the phone can't find the bluetooth device. Finally today, when I sent it, it picked up the handsfree so I could send the new contact. Next time I need to get a phone I think I find out which ones positively work with the car.

You were not supposed to hit the "Delete All" button. When you get to the point that you can see that button, the complete phone book will display. Just select the contact that you want to delete, do NOT touch the "Delete All" button.
