Drying towels

Does anyone have a recommendation for a towel that dries a car well after washing?

went to Linens Plus and they had a package of 3 micro-fiber towels for 10 bucks and they work really good for drying off after a wash, car that is.

yeah, I got some myself (3 pack of micro fiber towels) at Auto Zone, and I highly recommend them too!

I tried the regular microfiber cloths to dry my car and they were OK but I wanted something better.

Walking around Target one day shopping with my wife, I decided to walk through their small automotive aisle, just to get a breath of automotive air and refresh myself. Sitting on the bottom shelf was a plastic tube with a synthetic chamois called: THE ABSORBER SYTHETIC CHAMOIS (THE ORIGINAL). I became excited. I had forgotten all about this product, you see, as it made a big splash with my sports car club years ago, but I was too chicken to try ot out then.

Now is the time to try it. I did and really enjoy it. The Absorber is reasonably inexpensive and picks up a lot more water than my regular micro-fiber towels ever could.

It turns out that this material has been around for many years, has had no reported problems and is a different type of micro-fiber (it feels like a luxuriously creamy chamois).

The only trick is that just like real micro-fiber cloths, they pick up water quickly only after they are wet. You can store it damp in the tube (which is recommended by the manufacturer) and grabs tons of water in one swipe right out of the tube.

I highly recommend this product.

I also use an absorber-type cloth. Works great. Can dry the entire car in about 5 minutes.

I also use a synthetic chamois. I don't remember the brand. I bought it 15 years ago when I got my Civic. It works just as Gen2 describes. In fact, I think I need a new one because mine has gotten stained. Or maybe I just need to wash it.

Has anyone here used both a synthetic and a natural oil-cured chamois, to compare them? (gulp) maybe it'll be me since my old sheepskin is falling apart...

I got some flannel cloths at Wal-Mart the other day, along with some spray-on wax from Rain X. Both seemed to work fine.
