Friends: 0 | I had a front tire replaced yesterday by 'Big-O' tires. I made a point to tell them the tires had pressure sensors in them that are expensive to replace, so make not to forget them. I picked the car up and the sensor light was on, I informed the technician and he said drive it around awhile and it will reset. It never did reset, I'm concerned the sensor is broken or missing. Are the sensors in the rim or are they in the valve on the tire? Can they be accidentally discarded when the old tire is removed? |

Friends: 0 | There is a button under the steering wheel that is for resetting the sensor. I think you need to hit that one after each tire change (not sure). Try hitting it and see what happens There is a button under the steering wheel that is for resetting the sensor. I think you need to hit that one after each tire change (not sure). The warning should not come on until one or more tires is about 25% below the "setpoint". That is why I suspect that the replaced tire is way low. Theoretically, you shouldn't HAVE to reset the system on a tire change if you set the tire pressures back to where it was in the old tires. I'd do it anyways. If the light is still on with the corrected tire pressure and reset, they broke your sensor. - Tom | |
