If you want to improvise- What about one of those "self-cling" windshield tint strips? You could cut it to size to fit front of MFD and dispose it if it gets scratched. I used a piece to cut down the light at night from a digital alarm clock. The windshield strip is about 5" wide and 20% tint; I put one on my truck and it works great. (Is this too tacky? )
