I don't know what to tell you. Perhaps there was an intermittent electronic glitch that prevented the car from completely turning off while the DVD charger was still plugged in. The car does funny things every now and then. Point of the matter is that unplugging the DVD player solved my problem. I recall reading other reports on PriusChat of several similar incidents.

If you want to call it a false hope, fine for your. For me, it worked.
