Thumbs up

A friend spilled a soda (Coke) on the passenger mat/carpet. Fortunatly I had a towel with me and he moped up most of it. I went out this morning, the carpet looks okay, just a little damp that I took care of with paper towels, but the floor mat had a pretty big stain and was still wet. I figured I'd just hose it off on the driveway and moped up the excess water with a towel, then just hang it up to drip dry for a day or two. Should this work okay to get the stain out, and do I need to re-scotchguard the mat when it's dry?

Got 60 mpg(avg) one evening returning home from work. Next morning back down to 48-ish. Keeping my foot out of it gets me in the mid-50's mpg

I swear by 303 Cleaner and Spot Remover. I think if the Coke didn't get a chance to dry you'll be OK if you wet it and blotted it. Coke contains corn syrup (sticky bacteria food) and phosphoric acid (toilet-bowl cleaner ingredient) so it can be hard on fabric if you don't get it off.

After hosing it off and letting it 'drip-dry' for a couple of days all the stain seems to be gone. If I suspect there's still some residue I can break out my 'Little Green Machine' from Bissle I'm going to replace the front and back 'cargo' area mats with black rubber ones anyway.

I bought the OEM all weather matts IMMEDIATELY when I bought my vehicle. I took the carpeted matts out. Where I live, they are just impractical, as they would get so dirty very quickly.

I did the same thing; the carpeted mats would have been ruined after one winter here...
