Friends: 0 | For the past month or so I experienced a whistle whenever I'd be travelling anywhere from 35 to 80 miles per hours. I'm at 40,000 miles and usually expect odd noises from cars at this point. Still, i was certain this was fixable. It wasn't the mudguard, it wasn't the window or door jambs or linings and it wasn't the rain gutter lining which i pulled up and cleaned. It turns out that there are three little screws under the sideview mirrors. Covering the screws is a thin plastic film - probably to protect the screws and prevent any whistles. One of my films was completely gone and a second was perforated badly. I applied a piece of transparent tape over the two screw holes and voila! the whistling has discontinued. my Hebrew National is again a stealth machine at 35mph and up!! |

Friends: 0 | The name, Hebrew National, arose a year after I stopped being a vegetarian. I went to a cubs/sox game and fortunately we have covered seats in a rainy game. I drank a few beers and had about three (maybe four) Hebrew Nationals. That started a renewed, small and temporary obsession with hot dogs. A few months later, my '86 corolla named, The Little Brown Jug, died and I put in a deposit for a salsa red prius. After soliciting names from my friends and scouring priuschat and priusonline for different ideas, somehow the name, The Hebrew National, just stuck. I'm not Jewish, don't keep kosher or anything of the sort, I just like the hotdog. Just before i picked up the car or shortly thereafter, my firends even gave me the Hebrew National t-shirt to go with it. The color is a bit off but it's fun. I like the name better than people names for cars and the Hebrew National has just enough syllables in it that it's strange and fun to say at the same time. Besides, Chicago is a bit of a hotdog town so it fits a little better. :P cheers, The Hebrew National driven by Rohit |
