Quoted me $850 for parts and labor. Wish me luck on trying to fix it myself! Has anyone had any luck with Toyota? |

Friends: 33 | Re: MFD issues on '04/'05 Prius I have had nothing but a good run with Toyota. Fix it yourself or have a radio tech fix it with prints of the posts at the start of this thread. My repaired MFD is going strong 12 months on. |

Friends: 0 | Re: MFD issues on '04/'05 Prius MFD problem located and successfully repaired on my '04. I removed the unit and took it to a student who used to fabricate circuit boards. With a borrowed microscope, he found the loose connection on the end of the 60-pin connector. Re-soldered it and went all the way around the connector to be sure. I put it back in and everything works! Thanks to Hobbit and others. Now what do I do with the $850 that my dealer wanted? |

Contributions will be accepted! MFD is still working after 3 days! Interestingly, the parts guy at the Toyota place said he had priced several MFDs for the 04. Service writer said he had never heard of the problem. Hmmm. |
