Friends: 0 | So My best friend has a 2004 Prius w/ 175k on it, his has been acting really odd just like ya'll have stated. So I am going to help him out and *try* hobbits fix.. If not I told him to just buy one off Ebay! |

Panne Ecran / Clim / Radio - Forum Prius Touring Club FYI the cost of the repair was around 3000$ if you listen to the local toy shop. when you come to france let me know... |

Friends: 33 | Time to resolder. I used a specialist and I expect my repair to last a long time. If it plays up again I'll just pull it out and fix it again. |

Friends: 23 | resolder? you mean the motherboard? The dealer told me my dad to replace the motherboard for Cdn$1,200. Galaxee said the symptoms displayed are not indicative of the classic MFD failure. I'm so confused. |

Friends: 33 | That sounds like what mine did. Have you read the MFD thread by Hobbit? Mine the radio would go off or when the MFD was acting up the radio was on but if I pressed the audio button the screen says audio off and when you press the Climate button a message says the AC signal isn't available or something like that. Either way I'd re-solder the plug to the board as in Hobbit's instructions, there is little to lose and a lot to gain. |
