I was cruising down the road on my way to work this morning, happened to glance down at my speedometer and shocked to see I was traveling at 96 miles an hour! Evidently the traffic around me was too! I have no idea what my actual speed was, all the way to work I traveled between 96-106 mph per the display. The actual speed limit was 40 to 50 MPH along my 12 mile route. My car is only six months old.....has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Are you sure you didn't have the display set for Kilometers per hour?

FYI: It's the button near the odometer button below the MFD.

And this really isn't Prius and Hybrid news, the purpose of this particular forum.

Sorry, I'm new and don't really have the hang of things yet. I'll just read from now on.

why are you all always so harsh to noob's. This is like if you went to a unfamiliar grocery store and asked where is the bread aisle and the guy looked around and said well its not over here this is the frozen food section.

Really? Then why is the forum titled "Care, Maintenance and Troubleshooting?"
Seems to me that a reasonable person might consider the OP's question to be in the troubleshooting area.

One of the moderators moved this thread to the proper forum after the OP originated it in the Prius and Hybrid News forum.
