Tire pressure on 2007 Touring Editon

I talked my sister in law in to buying a Prius. She got the 2007 Touring edition (Grrrr).
On my 2006 I do 42/40 for optimum gas mileage. What about the tires on the Touring?

I run the same pressure as you (42/40) on my 07 Touring.

I've found that while as a driver I have no problem with high tire-pressures (42/40; 40/38), the ride experience as a passenger is very different. At higher pressures comfort is noticeably reduced, mostly due to increased road noise/vibration and the harsh ride. However at lower pressures (37/35; 35/33) the handling and especially the cornering-performance of the car is noticeably reduced. So I settled in the end for a compromise at 39/37 and I don't repressurize until the tires are below 38/36.

We are running 38F/36R in our 2007 Prius Touring and it handles well. We did try slightly higher tire pressures in the OEM P195/55 R16's and the Prius started to handle a bit "squirrelly" so we went back down to 38/36 and are staying there with these tires. Our gas mileage is a bit over 50 MPG with 50/50 city/highway driving.
