We have had our 20007 Prius for about 3 months now.

In the last few weeks, whenever we turn on the air conditioner or the fan there is a musty odor coming through good and strong.

The service manager said they cleaned pipes. blah, blah. I wondered if anyone else has had this problem with a new vehicle.

It has been very dry here during the period that this problem has occured.

This issue has come up before. The following thread goes into good detail

The odor happens with most A/C'd vehicles. What you have to do is turn off the A/C before shutting the vehicle down and run outside air through the vents for a minute or so. The odor is caused from moisture in the vents.

Leave the A/C running and turn on the heater.
This puts warm dry air through the system which helps get rid of the smell caused by the moisture in the vents.

Pete.
