Audio Console does not turn on!

All of a sudden my Audio console on my 05 Prius does not turn on any more. On the audio display it just says "audio off" and I can't turn it on anymore with any of the buttons (pwr, mode, FM etc.) Has anyone had this problem? Could it just be the fuse? If yes where do I look for the Audio/Radio fuse. Any help appreciated. No sound is a sad ride.

I just checked fuse 45 (Audio system AMP) but it's still good. Any other hints? Should I reset the computer by unpluging the 12 V battery cable?

Did you try turning the power on/off using the power button, not using the touchscreen/steering wheel audio controls. Power button in my car is just to right of gear selector switch and volume control knob. That's the only way I've found to get the message "audio off" to show on my touchscreen and not be able to turn the stereo back on. I don't like silent rides either!

thanks for replying. I have tried to turn on the radio with the pwr button and it still doesn't turn on. Did you ever get yours to turn back on or have you had to replace the unit?

Hmmmm...is this one of the symptoms of MFD failure? How is your climate control system working?

No, I haven't had any problems with my audio system, but I usually leave it powered on all the time. I found the power button while 'playing around' when I first bought the car. Good luck!
