160K Miles with Wierd Noise after shutdown!!

Recently (within the last 10k miles) I have started to hear a "not so good" noise from the driver's side after I power down. As I am leaving the vehicle, it almost sounds like a sump-pump trying to drain an empty basin. It only happens at shutdown and for not more then 10 seconds, though usually on 4-5 seconds.

This sounds like the coolant transfer pump. They sometimes sound nasty in cold weather; or it could be about to fail.
