Friends: 1 | Just got my Prius 5 days ago and I noticed finger prints on my Heads Up Display (shows speed, odometer, fuel, etc.). It is driving me CRAZY!Probably from some Japanese guy at the factory. It is protected by that LONG clear plastic piece that runs the length of the dash (covers-up warning lights, turn signals, etc.). Question: How do I remove the long clear plastic piece that covers up the HUD SAFELY without cracking it? I did notice it comes in two long sections. |

Friends: 33 | Dont. The finger prints are most likely on the display which is in front of the window you think it is in. What you are looking at is a mirror. Look in through the windscreen from above and you will see the display. If you can't clean it without pulling it apart make a warranty claim. PS; Would it make a difference if you found out the fingerprints belong to an American who was in Japan on a working holiday? |

Friends: 0 | the problem is that you are cleaning the wrong area what you should be cleaning is the on the dash what you are cleaning is the relection.... get a clean rag to clean glasses (very soft cloth) place that colth right on top of your dash directly north of your steering wheel ....yes on your dash slide it forward and gently clean the lcd screen... if you stand on the outside of the car on the drivers side and lean over the windshield and look into your car you will see the display only backwards thats why your going crazy cleaning the wrong area the display lays on the dash at an angle if you have more trouble call me 213-305-2322 oscar good luck |

Friends: 0 | If the car came like that then I'm pretty sure you can get it "repaired" (aka cleaned) under warranty. That will surely be a unique warranty claim, but I think it's fair to expect a new car to come without fingerprints from the factory... |
