My Car: Model: Package: |  engine failure My combustion engine stopped working. The master warning light and engine icon appeared on the dash. The warning symbol appeared on the GPS screen. I was able to get to a Toyota service dept. on battery. I learned Toyota has sent a bulletin to dealers providing a "fix" for my problem called "ECU Update EG4017 perform TSB EG047-04." Part #89661-47071. My Prius is a 2004 and was covered under warranty. The service guy said no recall notice was sent to owners because the problem doesn't occur in all cars. |

Assuming yes, I wonder if cold weather has anything to do with it, or if this is just what one would expect with more Prii on the road. Anyone else have any thoughts? On this, I mean.  Brad |

How is THIS for ironic timing: today the perky and cheerful receptionist at my local Toyota dealer called, asking if I could bring in my Prius "at your earliest possible convenience" as there MIGHT be the possibility of my ICE quitting. I can laugh about it now ... |

Friends: 10 | ummm not your imagination at all. there has been an uptick of failures reported... couldnt have anything to do with the fact that there are now many more 04's and up on the road now as compared to before would it? NAH!!! the thought that my Prius wasnt a perfect car would be very traumatic to me... but then again, as far as i can discern, it IS a perfect car... knock on environmentally-friendly, oil-free plastic~~!! |
