Friends: 0 |  MPG Monitor Whenever I fill up my 2005 Prius, the car automatically resets the miles per gallon indicator to zero. (My 2002 Prius did not do this unless I pushed the reset button). The dealer seems to think it's normal for that to occur, and I haven't figured out a way to contact Toyota Corp. about it. Does anyone know if the MPG readout it supposed to reset itself with each fillup on a 2005? |

Friends: 62 |  Re: MPG Monitor Hello Richard, welcome to PriusChat!  Yes, the 2004 and 2005 Prius would reset after a fill up, just as you describe. In later years, Toyota heard enough complaints that they changed it so the Miles resets to zero for the tank, but MPG is cumulative, with a fill up. The screen Reset button zeros both Miles and MPG. |
