Default Taillight Assembly Replacement

How do you remove the plastic trim inside the hatch next to the bumper as described in the thread Cracked Taillight Dome: Parts and Replacement?

I usually crack plastic parts or the tabs that hold them in place when I start pulling on them.

Thanks for any tips.

Bob

Hi Bob,

I had to remove the hatch trim on my 2004 when I replaced the rear shocks. Use your hands, no tools, and pull gently. Once you get one end loose you can see what the clips look like, which may give you more confidence to remove the trim.

It also would be a good idea to do this when the interior is relatively warm. The plastic is probably more brittle in cold weather.

I am looking for guidance on replacing the drivers side tailight assembly. Is the assembly really held on by those little plastic nubs?

There are two nuts and two pins holding the rear combination light assembly to the body.
