Friends: 0 | I have a brand-new 2008 Prius (3 weeks old and 600 miles) and the touch screen just went out. The Toyota Dealer will swap it out for a new one, but have I bought a lemon? It worked one day and not the next. Why would this happen, and am I in for other problems down the road? Thanks. |

Friends: 41 | It's just how electronics are...I don't think you have a lemon or any reason to think there would be any other problems. Electronics typically fail early in life if they're defective. |

Friends: 27 | Any company can show some impressive statistics about how few defects they have per thousand, or million of parts manufactured. Of course, all that means nothing when you get the defective one. Sorry to hear about your malfunctioning screen. My stereo went out within the first few months. I'm still waiting for defect #2. |

Friends: 0 | Yes, the Toyota dealer checked it out and said I just got a "bad panel." And he said that I shouldn't have any more problems with the car. But, at 600 miles, it does seem strange, doesn't it? |

Friends: 45 | Hi Silvia, This is an example of "infant mortality". The Prius has tremendous electronics content, substantially more than other cars in its price range. Hopefully you will now enjoy trouble-free ownership. |
