Friends: 0 | 3quarts puts you right between the low and full. No fuss, no messy measuring over and over. Do not use 4quarts, it'll put you a bit over the top. If you want to hit the top, then use 3.5 quarts (+-.2 quarts, depending on how much oil is remaining inside the engine/oil pan) |

Friends: 0 | Toyota stated oil & filter capacity = 3.9 quarts (will put you 1/4" overfull) Actual/empirical oil and filter capacity ~ 3.7 quarts (will put you on the full mark) As mentioned by another above, 3 quarts will put you at the midpoint on the dipstick. I'm running 3.5 quarts at present, about 1/4" below the full mark. Anything between 3 and 3.5 quarts should put you in a safe zone that is in full compliance with the warranty/manual concerning dipstick oil level. The hard part after filling with synthetic is seeing the level at all. |

Friends: 2 | Using a Mobil 1 "double" capacity oil filter adds a bit more oil. I use 3.5 quarts after filling and installing the Mobil 1 oil filter. |
