Friends: 0 | Scraping noise when I slow down and turn left. Shop says it is a wheel bearing out, and even though it's an '03 with 39,000 miles, it is under warranty. Anybody else have this problem? (And even before I found out it was under warranty, have to confess that the service technicians at McKinney Toyota in Ft Worth are the friendliest, most helpful I've found anywhere!) |

Friends: 12 | It has been known to happen early. Like most modern vehicles, the bearing is a sealed assembly and cannot be repacked. It must be replaced |

Friends: 0 | My '04 had the right front wheel bearing go at 45k miles. The dealer took care of it under warranty... |

Friends: 0 | The left front wheel bearing also went on my 2005. 176 000 km (approx 110 000 miles). At first I thought it was an alignment problem, and so did the dealer. |

Friends: 0 | 05 front left went out at 95,000. Helped along by a curb impact I think. The rest are still OK at 163,000. Replaced it myself for about $150 for the part from Hoy Toyota in TX about a year ago. |

Friends: 14 | Prius fronts are cartridges that just need to be pressed in (slightly underestimating the work load there). For the rears, the whole wheel hanger assembly gets swapped. We usta imagine that some of them got hurt on the boat ride over. If such did not occur, them expect them to last a very long time. |

Friends: 0 | I've had same symptoms (and so have others in this forum) with a small pebble that got lodged in the brake rotor. Is the shop absolutely sure about the bad bearing? Did they remove wheel and brake and confirm you have no rocks caught against the rotor? Just a thought... Quote:
