Default Nokian WrG2 great in the snow.

My new WRG2 tires are great in the snow, it's like night and day compared to the standard OEM tire. I have noticed a small mileage hit but it's worth to have a good all weather tire. I sure the mileage will improve when the weather is warmer. FishHawk

The Nokian WRg2's are great tires (The older WRs are even better on snow, but a bit noisier). They actually will get better MPG than the Goodyear Integrity tires. You are probably comparing worn tires with a higher revs/mile to new tires with a lower revs/mile as well as a lower temperature this time of year. Note that your new tires probably have a max pressure rating of 51 PSI so consider running them at a higher pressure than Toyota suggests (I run my WRs, now at 38,000 miles, at 42 PSI front and 40 PSI rear).

Agreed. As the tires break in, they will get better mileage than the OEM tires.

Would it be ok to run the WRG2's at 45/43 or even 46/44? I know the sidewall pressure is 51, that doesn't necessarily mean you can bring the pressure up to 51, right?

They are safe at the rated MAX COLD at 51, but you will get a harsh ride. I still run mine at 42/40.
