Friends: 0 |  Brakes Screeching issue Hello, I am noticing that my brakes are screeching too much on my 2008. I only have 29k miles on the care. Is it regular for this to happen so soon? i tought we didnt need brake replacements till past 100k or something. What do you guys recommend? |

Friends: 44 | Re: Brakes Screeching issue Maybe your front rotors are a bit rusty. You can try cleaning the brakes. Find a road with light traffic, get up to 45-50 mph. Then shift to N and moderately brake to a stop. Repeat a few times, see if that helps the noise issue. |

Friends: 1 | Re: Brakes Screeching issue Is the screech when you apply them - suggesting the rotors - or at low speeds when they are not applied - suggesting a pad staying in contact when it shouldn't. My rotors were replaced at 30k under warranty and the pads at 50k, not under warranty. |

Friends: 0 | Re: Brakes Screeching issue Or there's a stone stuck in one. Pads on a Prius should easily last 50,000 miles (unless you do lots of mountain driving and ride the brakes a lot). |

Friends: 0 | Re: Brakes Screeching issue Pads might just be worn down. At 29k I'd just take it to the dealer and ask to have the brakes looked at really quickly if it's still under warranty. |
