Friends: 0 | Is there any reason that I should not have the people that installed my new tire perform an alignment also? Anything unique to the Prius in this area? Does it just require front end alignment or do I need to worry about the rear also? Thanks! | I am wondering if there is a reason I should pay the dealer to do it or should I just have the Tire place do it..... Last edited by slipsibm; 04-21-2009 at 05:59 PM. Reason: Duh, 2008 |

Friends: 12 | The rear beam axle is not normally adjusted - the shop manual suggests replacement. You can make shims to adjust the rear axle, but you're on your own doing this I would have a Toyota shop do the front end alignment. Things like Zero Point Calibration are best left to folks who understand it, using the dealership scantool |

Friends: 0 | What year Prius do you have? Your info states 2008, but your topic subject states 2009. I believe that Toyota will do one free alignment, but I don't remember if it's within the first 3 months or the first year. |

Friends: 0 | Duh, 2008.... I will check with the dealer and see about the free alignment. So you think thats a dealer job? How much should the dealer charge? |

Friends: 0 | It's 12 months/20,000 miles, whichever comes first, for the free alignment. It's very common for the front wheels to be out of alignment when the car comes off the boat. |
