Prestone All Makes/All Models=Dex-Cool in drag, it has the same chemicals in it. Peak Global Lifetime has no 2-ethylhexanoic acid or sodium/potassium neodecanate - or so what Old World Industries says. There's rumors that Peak Global Extended Life at Wal-Mart isn't the same as the Lifetime.

Not to hijack the thread, but recently I drained small samples
of engine coolant from all three drain points and observed that
the stuff is as bright pink as the day it went in. At over 100K
miles. What does that say about the chemistry, if anything?
Vaguely related, where can one get *small* quantities of those
test strips for coolant and brake fluid?
.

Tells me that Toyota knows what they are doing. Remember back when motors had the green stuff? If you went 2-3 years, the rad was a scaled-up mess

Regarding the test strips, I've never seen them sold for individual use. I suppose you've tried all the usual suspects? Eg Autozone, PepBoys, NAPA, etc

This is a typical quantity of test strips

Run-Rite.com : PRODUCTS: Fluid Rx Multi-Fluid Test Kits

Just the ticket if you decide to start reparing Prius cars on a huge scale!
