Default Help... MFD issue

Hey, a few days ago my MFD screen went out on my 07 prius. The bottom half doesnt work, only the top half. I cant use any buttons on the screen half way down, including the A/C which is stuck on full blast.

is there a way to re-calibrate the screen? (sorry i tried looking for others with problems in the forums and i just decided to ask here)

Also, I have notice my A/C has been getting louder and louder coming from the glove box. its getting kinda annoying... think its about to bite the dust?

thanks for all your comments!

Hi clint...,

Can't help you on the MFD, but the noise from the glove box is probably the cabin air-filter cloging up. Go get a new one. They are easy to replace.

I'm having MFD problems myself, so I'll be monitoring your thread.

As for the loud AC, have you tried pulling out the cabin air filter to see if there is a leaf or something getting whipped around by the fan? It's behind the glovebox.

I just had the filter changed by toyota... and thats about when the noise started. I will take it back in for them to fix it.

Also.. update.. now my MFD will work if I use my stylus pen down below the buttons normal place

Can't you turn off the AC with the button on the steering wheel?

I was going to suggest that too. Use the AC button on the steering wheel to control the temperature and thus the fan speed.

I hope my MFD doesn't go out since I'm out of warranty too.

It's really easy to open it up and see for yourself how they messed up the filter. Instructions are in the owner's manual.
