Before a long trip, what should I check?

Friends: 0 | We drive from the Pac NW to Maine 2-4 times a year, so long trips are our norm. In fact we just got back from such a trip yesterday, 7500 miles in the round. Normal stuff, I would block ~3/4 of the top of the grill with pipe insulation, and if its cool ~1/2 the bottom. I would add a back cushion, and a elbow cushion for the centre console. Change the oil, fill the tires to 40 psi, and if you keep the speed under ~70 you should get ~50-52. Between 70-75 my mileage drops to ~48. Icarus |
