Friends: 0 | Most of the time the auto-tint on the rear view mirror works fine. But sometimes you look back and feel like "flipping" the old style mirror to adjust for rear headlight glare. Anyone else have an issue with this? Any options for manual override? |

Friends: 0 | I think part of the issue is that the mirror is a generic product that is used in lots of applications. The rear sensor is at the bottom edge and that location is shadowed from headlights by the bottom of the rear hatch when a car is very close, yet the light still reflects into your eyes from the mirror. I've carefully turned the mirror upside down, putting the sensor on the top of the unit. I've also moved the mirror as low as possible. It's not perfect but it's much better. |

Friends: 23 | I did the "mod" like John1701a pictured here: The only difference is that I cut an oval out of some electrical tape and placed it over the sensor. Sorry, don't have a picture. Suffice it to say, the black on black is much less noticeable. The end result is that the mirror is always dim unless I reach up and turn the autodimming feature off. That doesn't happen often. |
