Friends: 0 | Well, I guess I beat the EPA! After one year and 30000 miles, average was 48 mpg. I have two separate commutes, depending on which house we stay in. Primary commute is 40-miles, half 65mph and half 45mph with 10 miles of stop and go 0-to-45mph. Secondary commute (about 25% of the time) is 60 miles @ 65mph and 10 miles 0-to-50pmh. I have taken the Prius on numerous road trips, 200-to-500 miles at Interstate speed (with the emphasis on "speed"). On the interstate I tend to drive with cruise control as opposed to pulse-and-glide, which I use on my slower two-lane road routes (and when I am not annoying those behind me with my erratic speeds). I used the display screens for the first six months of so, until one day when I almost wrecked because of it! I find that I have "burned" the lessons of Prius driving into my brain and foot enough where I really don't need the screens for feedback. I was really happy over last Summer, when I was getting close to 55mpg over my normal commutes. But Winter (temps below 45-degreesF) and likely Winter gas mix brought me to 45mpg. Road trips were about 47 or so, at constant greater-than speed limit speeds. I really have enjoyed Interstate driving, since the Prius is very comfortable and there's plenty of space for cargo. I use the Prius for my Coffee House gigs too, since the hatchback is perfect for holding my sound equipment. I even use the car for lawn and garden supply trips, and carting small furniture. All in all, the Prius is a perfect car for my lifestyle. I would like a convertible version tho, even tho mileage would suffer, I'd still expect better mileage than my Chrysler Sebring convertible. The GY Integrity's wore out after 30000 miles. I've replaced with GY Comfortread and seem to be getting about the same mileage, after 1000 miles, as I was last year at this time. BTW, reagrdless of warnings, I always squeeze in an extra 3/4 gallon of gas at the pump by "topping-off", and that gives me an extra 35 miles range! |

I'm somehow at over 61mpg still with 150 miles on the tank. If I can keep this up, which I won't since I have to drive 400 miles tomorrow . . . Wow I just got really sad haha. | |

Friends: 1 | My previus high was 58. Now I'm up to 60. This mileage is toi/from work, 14mi each way, and stopping every mile or so due to traffic lights and traffic volume. I'm really getting the hang of hyper-mileing that I can take advante of cuz my typical speed is 40. |
