"Holy crap, some genius just figured out how to save the world with 100 mpg fuel economy and, in one fell swoop broke the laws of physics, chemistry, and thermo-dynamics,again.A couple weeks ago one of my friends at MOTOR TREND sent me a link to some new fangled bolt -on fuel saver kit promising to make just about any car on the road today crank out fuel economy numbers just shy of cold fussion.I'm not sure if he sent it as a joke,or was really curious, but this i had to see.Maybe i could even install it after my Tornado and electric turbo-charger came in the mail. So after sitting through the first of two 30-miniute clips at ,,,"i can post the link later " ,,,,, looked alot like the Hale-Bopp worshiping Heaven's Gate cult videos,I was ready to kill myself" Jay Chen

I have tried this hydrogen modification, with 4 or 5 different designs, I work at a dyno test facility where we have extremely repeatable results (drive robot that drives the car the exact same way each time, fuel flow meter accurate to .25%, dyno that eliminates the wheel/tire (total about $15,000,000). I have tried it on every vehicle you could think of from a full sized truck to a cobalt, every time I instrumented current probes on the alternator and measured current, and to generate hydrogen, it takes considerably more energy than it generates in combustion aide. Somewhere around a 50% loss in energy, so it is a bad idea, and I have considerable amount of data to prove it.

Just curious, are we talking about 0.5 kWhr loss?

Running the belt and alternator at high or maximum electrical loads is not my idea of fun. Say a night drive, in the rain, with maximum defrost (so the AC is engaged,) the alternator and belt would have additional stress along with the AC compressor ... invitation to a bad, roadside experience.

Have you seen my video of a Prius with an engine that runs on water? It's real and it works. Longest I have had the engine running continuously was 5 days and still running. Only reason it stopped last time is it ran out of water. I just topped up the water and started it again.
