Friends: 0 | Well I Finally made it, I really didn't think I was going to hit 60MPG but after I got P&G down, added an EV and got a Scan Gauge it seems like I am staying above 60 most of the time.. If it was not for 80% interstate I would be able to get some really impressive tanks. I know its not as good as a lot of you guys get, but I am proud of it |

I drive City mostly, 3 out of 5 days a week, interstate the rest. and average 48 MPG's I get my BEST mileage on the interstate...especially when there is no traffic in the very early morning or slightly stop and go traffic. What makes the most difference for you to get this kind of great mileage? I believe I am a good hypermiler but the proof is in the pudding (or consumption/energy monitor) | |

Friends: 0 | we are still hanging at 48 mpg. not really upset because of what the rest of the world gets per gallon but i was expecting an increase after 5k. we have kept tires aired to 42/40, made sure the oil wasnt overfilled and drive moderately. i guess its the highway driving and the a/c right now. maybe in a month we will see more of an increase in mpg, just in time for cold weather that will cut into it....LOL. ah well, its still making driving fun again with all the little things to track in the pursuit of MPG!! |

Friends: 6 | Excellent job sandman. I am struggling to hold 55 right now (360+ miles @ 2.5 gallons left according to scangauge) but my short trips are what kill me. I have found two things that really have helped me. The first was a driving lesson from Wayne Gerdes at Hybridfest. The second is using the BTA x-gauge setting on the scan gauge. It helps me to know just how much of the battery pack I am using at any given time, so I can tell when I am in a true glide and if necessary use the battery without the ICE starting up. And by knowing the SOC (I have two gauges) I can tell just how much it will allow me to pull from the battery without firing the ICE. I have decided to give up on not using the battery at all. I seen to get better mpg with judicious use of the battery. I try to keep the draw less than 20 amps. Under 10 is preferable. PS. Wayne, Thank You again. Below is a pic of my drive while being coached by Wayne - it would have been better but I did not manage to execute all his instructions correctly.
