Friends: 25 | I just finished a tank at 57.9 mpg. Mine is a 2006 Gen II model. Just prior to the end of the tank I had it at 59.3 and was hoping to finish at 60. Alas, that last two days on the tank it rained, which kills my mileage. Anyway, now I know a 60 mpg tank is possible here in the mountains, so I'll be shooting for that before the weather turns cold. I've had my Prius three years this month. I still look forward to driving it every single day!! RD |

Friends: 1 | Nice job! I just had my best tank too, at 56. I'm surprised rain hurts your mileage... it actually helps mine as everyone on the road stops driving like a maniac and generally go the speed limit. |

Friends: 9 | Rain kills my mpg too...for a couple reasons. The biggest being the drag created by standing water on the road. On a wet road with puddles the water kills my glides and saps my speed. The rain also tends to drop the temps which increases engine warm up times. |

Friends: 0 | Great job! I just got my Prius 3 weeks ago and started taking it for my long commute to work everyday. It's also a 2006, white. The previous owners were getting 43-45 MPG on it, but I guess they weren't really trying to conserve. The first tank I got 60.1 mpg on it, but I was really trying out the hypermiling techniques. The next tank was 59.5, then my last tank got 58.2. I am thinking that the air must be coming out of the tires or something, but also that I'm not trying that hard to conserve gas. I'm going to reinflate the tires this week and see if that will help, but OTOH I'm pretty happy with anything over 55 MPG. My question is, are you all using the Prius computer that states your MPG or do you actually do a miles travelled/gallons of gas at next fillup to determine your MPG? I checked it at the last fillup and found the trip computer to be quite accurate! |

Friends: 12 | Most excelent! We're in the humid 90's over the past week & the AC has become my killer. 2 pips left ... 527 miles on the tank ... but I'm not gona say what the mpg readout is ... except to say, "you too can DO IT" |

Friends: 19 | At about 3700 miles my MFD lifetime MPG is about 2% too optimistic compared to that calculated from (total miles driven)/(total gallons added). |
