Which provides a better battery charge?

Coasting in D, pushing the brake, or shifting to B? I realize the best practice is to never come to a complete stop, but aside from that, what is the most fuel efficient strategy for braking?

In the forum "Fuel Economy" there is a topic named "rookie question: "B" drive". If you read all the posts there I think your questions will be answered, you may have some new ones though.
