Does anyone know what type of adhesive is used to secure the rear bumper guard? I just had mine installed by the dealer and as I was washing my car today, I noticed that there is a gap on each end where water can get trapped underneath (which of course could encourage rust).

Any ideas?

thanks.

It's two strips of two sided tape. The bumper is plastic and won't rust. Unless the whole piece was embedded in caulk, it's better to have a gap for the water to evaporate/drain.

Did you get the clear applique or the black heavy plastic protector?

If it is the clear one, take it back to the dealer and make them do it right.

If it is the black one it should not cause any problem, no chance of rust on plastic.
