Crack in dash glass(plastic)?

I just was out in my new '06 and noticed something I have not notices before. It appeared as if the glass/plastic on the dash - the part that covers speedometer, light/cruise indicators, etc. - has a split down the middle. It seems as if it's centered w/ the nav screen but since I haven't noticed before, I wonder if it's defective or by design.

Does anyone else have this split?

it's two pieces, what your seeing is normal.

My seam really stands out. I think if they could align the middle ends together better, the seam wouldn't be so noticeable.
