Friends: 0 | Yeah, I believe you're supposed to depend on that as opposed to other cars where you hear or feel the engine running. |

Friends: 12 | If your car isn't "ready" for you to drive, you should definitely consider not driving. Yes, I have the same "ready" light in my Rav4EV. Just tells you that the car is "running" even when there's nothing actually running. |

Friends: 1 | Maybe I have the only Prius that works differently. When I press the "Start" button, the light goes on (orange) and the car starts. As soon as the car is started, the orange light goes out. It does not stay lit. Is this the "ready light" we are discussing? |

Friends: 60 | No, jbarnhart, the "ready" light is the actual word READY that you see in the display by the speedometer that also tells you if you are in forward, reverse, neutral, or park. I agree that the POWER button's light doesn't make sense, going off when it's on for driving, and glowing when the car is in ACC or Ig-On, but one get's used to it. |

Friends: 0 | From what I've heard, in early Priuses, the power button light did stay on while in READY. I'd imagine they changed it because it was a pointless visual distraction. |
