I am reading some posts about max mpg. Please define the following terms for me and tell me which arrows would be showing on my ENERGY MONITOR. thanks!

Deadband
Pulse Aceleration?
Glide
Coast
ICE

What is the best way to get top mpg? What should I be looking for on my energy monitor?

Greetings to both of you! A s someone who is realtively new here, I can understand how some of the jargon and shorthand thrown about in these fourms can be confusing... Fortunately, there is a glossary link at the top of the prius main forms to help clarify all of these terms...

This is the link to the glossary: http://priuschat.com/Acronyms-and-Abbrevia...ary-t13051.html

Hopefully this will help!!!

well sorry, but i do know that some of the terms you asked about are defined in the abbreviations and acronyms index... however, I cant tell you what the energy monitor would look like as I do not have a prius yet... I suggest you sepnd more time browsing around until you find your answer as most people here, unlike myself, will not spend time answering questions that have already been answered on these fourms... so please do some poking around and you will find your answer...

You can go to http://john1701a.com/ and scroll down to the bottom. Click on the "Multi-Display (HSD)" link for some explanations of the arrows.

dead banding: Click the image to open in full size.

coast and glide: Click the image to open in full size.

I suppose the purpose of them both would be using the power directly without the energy conversion losses when using the battery.
