If you paid more than the Toyota Web Site "Build your car" price, in retrospect do you regret your decision?

This would include:
--Paying over MRSP
--Buying dealer add-ons (undercoating, fabric protection, custom wheels, etc.)
--Paying over, say, $50-$100 document preparation fees
--Getting less than Kelly Blue book on a trade
--Paying over PriusChat price for extended warranty ($1K for 7/100, etc.)
--etc?

(I am actually quite impressed with dealers creativity in charging MRSP but still getting their ton of flesh)

My case?
Paid $500 over MRSP, which irritated me greatly at the time (mostly because up til the final moment price was MRSP). In retrospect I am happy.
1. I literally walked into the dealership and drove out with the Prius package I wanted, color I preferred. If I did not buy there I would have been paying for a rental, coordinating kids transportation with wife, etc. This could have eaten up a significant percentage of the extra I paid or (more likely) I would be driving a car not my first choice.

2. Apart from the last minute scam to get the extra $500, all was pleasant/quick/efficient. Have 8 'free' oil changes, airport shuttle/parking for 7 years, and I have been happy with their service dept. which I have been using for 6 years.

3, To a certain extent I paid a convenience premium.....I was not in a position to wait for weeks/months on a list.

Am I rationalizing? Of course! But I am still happy and getting happier as time goes by.

BTW, for those who paid MRSP or less and did not get hit with 'extras', I am happy for you and would love to hear about it.....
On a separate thread!!!

I got 500 over Kelly Book for my trade
I got package 5 with mats and no other extras for exactly MSRP
No add ons no extended warranties no doc fees only tax title stuff
Should pick up my 06 red Prius tomorrow
Will decide about the PriusChat extended warranty offer as I get close to 36,000
Looking forward to tomorrow -- I've only been waiting 3 weeks

we got shafted with the typical SET "undercoating and paint protection" scam. six hundred hard earned bucks for a bottle of crap, laser etching and some undercoating.

we'll get some use out of the undercoating when we move back home, but it was worth much less than what we paid for it. we got no insurance discount for the VIN etching.

eh, i don't really care that much. we needed a car, we got a car, it's a great car. it's all good.

I bought the package and color I wanted for less wait than originally quoted (3 weeks instead of 6 last fall). I think I got hosed on the trade-in, but it had some mechanical problems (at 37K miles it was burning oil and out of warranty), so I really didn't want to try to sell it privately. I would have felt guilty about selling it to a private owner only partially fixed (I found that out literally the day they called and told me mine was in). I was (an am) just glad to be washing my hands of Ford/Volvo forever.

I paid MSRP, BTW.

I paid for the "floor mats" bullsh*t addon.. I mean seriously $186 for floor mats? The $49 cargo net, not to mention the $29 first aid kit with a few bandaids in it. All of these things I would have done without, but because of the lack of choice in a prius (ie you get what you can as long as the color & package # is good) you take it up the chocolate wizwag!
