Thumbs up

I was curious, I really love our Prius and all of its features. However does anyone know if Toyota plans on making the car a little longer or wider in 2008?

What are the changes for 2008?

Does anyone know what we have to look forward to?

I was thinking of trying to hold out for the 2008 model, my 2004 just hit 45k..

According to the spy pics I posted, it seems like the chassis will be the same so expect the same wheelbase. I don't know about length or width.

It would be cool if they have a Prius Plus (e.g. mpv style... Mazda5/Corolla Verso)

I was hoping ther might lengthen the prius a cpl of inches. The car is wonderful but would be even more cool as a wagon with hatchback rear..

In general it seems that cars grow. Back in 1980 the Corona was the middle of Toyota's car line with the Corolla being the small car. The Corona was replaced by the Camry.

Today the Prius is the same length as the 1980 Corona and the Corolla is 3 inches longer than the Pruis.

Guess I'm gonna have to stick with this one then...Even if we DO ever clean up our garage, its configuration is such that, next to the full size sedan driven by dh, I could not possibly get a longer or wider car under cover and still get into the house! Unless, of course, I make dh park on the street...gee, THERE'S an idea...

Just to be obstinate, I'd rather see a smaller sports coupe version. I don't need 4 doors, though the hatch is great. Maybe an updated MR2 hatchback coupe. And, no, I don't like the Insight.

But the Corolla has 1.2 cu ft LESS cargo capacity and 5.9 cu ft LESS passenger area. Owing, I suppose, principally to all the space needed under the hood for the larger ICE.

Also, I think, due to the headroom. The Pri is taller than both family beemers...an '02 series 5 and an '87 series 7(!). (Calm down--we are selling the old beemer and dh got to pick his car just like I got to pick mine...and he will NOT buy a car w/out a stick shift...)
