I have a 2007 Prius with around 450 miles on it so far. I'm wondering about the supposed break in period for the engine? Like no hard acceleration, etc, for the first 300 miles. Is it 300 miles? 600 miles? I have to climb some steep hills on the way from my condo to my parents home and sometimes I have to get on the freeway at high speed. I don't think I am pushing the engine too much, but I wonder about it sometimes.

Anyone have any good data?

Dave

I don't have the manual in front of me, but 600 miles stick in my mind

Try Section 3, Page 318 [In my 2007 Owner's Manual], paragraph labeled "Break-in period"

This is even found in the Index 'Break-in tips"
