Hey guys, bought the extended warranty, Platinum from Troy at Toyota of Greenfield. Got the great deal of paying $990, no deductible, 7yr/100,000. Happy, peace of mind.!!!!!!!!If you are thinking about buying the extended warranty, then go to Troy. His address and web site information can be found in this forum. He is offering the best price that I know of. He ca do this because of the large volume he does.

Cool, I'm thinking about it too. I heard that to qualify for this warranty, you had to bring the car in for all regularly scheduled dealer maintenance items, like a 2500 mile service (including changing the oil), 5,000 mile service (also oil change), etc, or you wouldn't get warranty coverage. Is this true? Anyone know?

Oil changes are at 5K mile intervals. Don't waste petroleum when you don't have to.

Your warranty will not be denied because you didn't go to a Toyota dealer and get your maintenance done.
You can do any of the oil changes and ect either by yourself or any other place you prefer. Just be sure to keep records of the oil purchases, and other items used to maintain the vehicle.

I take care of my oil changes myself, and simply keep track of the receipts and such so I can prove that the maintenance was done.

Thanks and good luck on your warranty purchase. It is true you can get your money back if you don't use it. For me it was a peace of mind to have it.

Did you get a TOYOTA warranty or from another company? I'm surprised if someone is substancially cheaper then Troy.

Also I purchased a warranty 7 year 100k 0 deductible from Neil at Crown Automotive in Lawrence, Ks for much cheaper than what is being posted here on Prius Chat.[/b]
Selling it for much cheaper than Troy sells it means selling it below dealer's cost, if we are talking about an extended warranty issued and underwritten by Toyota Financial Services. I doubt that is the case, so it must be an non Toyota policy.

I purchased mine from Troy and the service and assistance (how to cancel my old one, etc.) was outstanding. I put 20-25k on the car a year so the extended maintenance was important to me.
