I was looking for my chld's toy and found a black box under the driver's seat. I opened it, found a slide panel, and it looks like a DVD player. Is this for the Nav system? Does it have any other possible uses?? Anybody look and see one in their Prius?

Doesn't the cover have "DVD-ROM NAVIGATION SYSTEM" (or something like that) embossed on it in big letters? That should have been a clue...

I imagine the original poster didn't see or feel embossed letters that say what the device is. **Moderator Edit**

Maybe he couldn't see it...maybe he should have seen it. Your response is too harsh. Let's chill and enjoy the car.

...and if you have the JBL stereo, there is another black box under the passenger seat.

No, lettering, completely blank. And your missing a crucial part of the question. Without spending hundreds of dollars, can it be used for other purposes? ie DVD?

No it can't. It's designed to read the nav data only.
