2004 Silver BC purchased March 2004. Just passed 120k miles. Normal scheduled maintenance performed by a local dealer. MFD failed out of warranty, goodwilled by Toyota. Waterpump was found leaking and replaced at last maintenance. Replaced OEM tires with Michelin HydroEdges at about 50k miles, Michelins still going strong. I'm not tracking mileage, but the computer usually reads around 48mpg +/- at fillup time. No complaints other than too many miles on it already

I guess I should contact the taxi company and find out just how many have 500,000+ km's on them I'd guess at least 15 of them now. Got a ride to that airport 2 weeks ago and the 2007 Prius had 38,000km's on it at that point. Got a ride home in a 2006 Prius cab and it had 97,000 km's on it. 100,000 miles doesn't really seem like a test to me.

Bought mine in April 2001 - 105,000 miles.

I think I average about 40-43 mpg - all sorts of driving. Better mileage in the summer than the winter.

Most fun is driving in Yoesmite and the Sierra Nevada - there are times when I can hit 70+ mpg for a day's worth of travel. And I love knowing that I'm not contributing to smog in the Valley.

I have the HOV stickers so it's nice to shoot along the freeway in LA and SF watching all the other single drivers sit and cuss me for having the brains to buy one before they were cool.

Tires have been an issue - first set lasted less than 12,000 but Toyota replaced them - NICE.
Second set lasted about 25,000 - the present set will last much longer because they're a better tire (Goodyear) and I fill them with Nitrogen to keep them inflated properly.

Had an accelerator control switch go out just on the other side of a warranty deadline - that cost me $525 for what looked like a little dimmer switch. - Bummer.

All in All - I love the car. Glad I bought it and intend to drive it until it quits - which I think will be a long long time.

Oh yeah - backed it into a tree in Yosemite a few years ago - has a cute little dent on the back right quarter panel - they say it's $1,500 to fix it - so I guess it'll just be dented.

I'm shocked at how few people have reached 100k miles. $200 plus for a 12v battery seems a bit high to me. Are there any alternatives?

There aren't many Classic owners that participate here... or anywhere for that matter. After driving such an impressive technological achievement for so long, there isn't a whole lot to say online. It works.

For HSD owners, that's quite a bit of driving. 100k is too soon still.

Purchased my 2004 on 3/5/2004.
Just hit 100K this morning..

No problems.. no complaints..

Have 62K on my hydroedges.. will probably get another 40K out of them.. great tires...

Have all the MPG records written down.
Have not put it into my spreadsheet.. since about 47K
Anyone have some time on there hands.. to do some data entry..

Plan on keeping the car 'till 250K miles.. then we will see what the nex gen prius looks like...

Thanks to everyone on this forum.. for there help over the last 3 years.. you guys.. (and girls!) are the best.

I thought this topic was stickyed? Had trouble finding it..

Enjoy...

I will never reach 100,000 miles in my Prius. After 3 1/4 years I'm about to hit 20K. And next month the Prius will become my gas-guzzler and be relegated to out-of-town and road trips as the Xebra SD becomes my daily driver.

Ah. I guess that's the electric allande was telling me about. He said you had both ordered one. I'd think it would be perfect for normal driving within Spokane, or any city for that matter. Well, I've taken a fair number of road trips and have 46k miles on mine now. It's over 17 months old now.
